What it is
Attendance Allowance helps with extra costs where a disability or health condition means someone needs help looking after themselves. It is not means-tested and does not depend on savings.
Applying
The claim form asks in detail about daily difficulties, including nights. Describe a bad day as well as a good one, and say how long tasks take. Take the current rates and eligibility rules from GOV.UK.
Under State Pension age
Younger adults should look at Personal Independence Payment instead.
